Transport Vehicle For Unmanned Medical Evacuations

What: Transport vehicle for unmanned medical evacuation ground vehicle (UGV), including anti drone jammers.

Who: Medical Unit, Reconnaissance Division, Brigade 3101, Ukrainian National Guard

Summary: Procurement and transport of a Mercedes Sprinter as a transporter for unmanned medical evacuation vehicle.

Date: September 2025

Value: approx. €18.000

Why It Matters:

As the Russian invasion continues, Ukrainian combat units increasingly develop abilities to use unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) for medical evacuation, minimizing the exposure to drone strikes and direct fire for medical units. However, deploying these life-saving UGVs requires specialized transport to reach the front lines and crucial anti-drone jammers to protect them from aerial threats. Furthermore, the transporter needs medical equipment and stretchers inside to stabilize the wounded during the transport to the next stabilization point or hospital.

Your support ensures these vital medical evacuation assets can safely reach and evacuate the wounded, securing the battlefield operations of medical teams. We are fundraising for a reliable transporter to deploy the UGV and its operators safely and effectively – not the UGV itself.

To get an idea, you find a video of a training video (no real war footage) which showcases the evacuation process of a wounded through an UGV here.

Mission Success:

Our volunteers procured a Mercedes Sprinter in Germany, having assessed that it meets all criteria that were asked for by the recipients.

We drove it to Lwiw in September and handed it over to our friends from Stasiuk Foundation who would then have handed it over to the unit for re-equipment.

The trip and our stay for two nights in Lwiw stayed with our volunteers deeply. We got in touch with more of our Ukrainian partners in person and are more than ever motivated to continue working with them. Moreover, we got insights about the dynamics in Ukraine first-hand, both the horrible reality at the military cemetery and also fascinating impressions of the historical city.
